  • 1/2 cup flax meal (75g)
  • 1/3 cup psyllium husk powder (40g)
  • 1/3 cup coconut flour (40g)
  • 2 heaped Tbsp Primal Future cricket powder (20g)
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • Sesame seeds to finish
  • 6 whole egg whites
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 cups boiling water

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Use scales to measure all the ingredients carefully as the cup serving is approximate and weights will vary.
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients apart from the sesame seeds in a bowl.
  3. Add the egg whites and eggs and process well using a mixer until the dough is thick. Add boiling water carefully to avoid burning yourself and scrambling the eggs, mix until well combined.
  4. Place spoonful’s of the mix on a baking tray with unbleached baking paper; keeping in mind that they will grow in size. Top each of the buns with sesame seeds or any seed of your choice and press them into the dough.
  5. Place in the oven and cook for about 45 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and place the buns on a rack to cool down.
  7. We recommend trying these with our Primal Future Falafel in a burger or with a spread of your choice.
